Introducing Instructor: Katherine Cloutier
Katherine believes, “The Arts keep you and your spirit young at heart.”
Katherine Cloutier has been performing/working/teaching in the arts for over 40 years. A singer, dancer, actor, writer, director, and choreographer, she has performed and been creatively involved in plays, musicals, television and radio shows, operas and operettas.
(One of her favorite jobs was performing as the only female architect in the world premiere opera about Frank Lloyd Wright, “Shining Brow”)
Mostly working from the East Coast to the Midwest, (in one tour as Cassie in “A Chorus Line”) the last 2 decades have found her based on Maui She helped co create and perform in the show “Ulalena”. She also performed in a role written for her in “The Garden Behind the Moon” at the Iao theatre. She has taught and directed for Theatre Theatre Maui and Lahaina Boys and Girls Club. She became a Stage Manager and performer in “Tony and Tina’s Wedding” aboard the Celebrity Cruise Line. She wrote and directed an original show based on the Whaling days in Maui for a Progressive Dinner fundraiser for the Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
She has also been a Drama Coach, the last 16 years, for Lahainaluna high school students preparing for the Annual English Speaking Union’s National Shakespeare Monologue Competition.
